Two more fights have been added to Bellator’s return to Dublin, Ireland next month.
The upcoming Bellator Dublin card has a couple of notable additions. Bec Rawlings has joined the card, with the former UFC strawweight (now flyweight) set to face Greece’s Elina ‘Gunner’ Kallionidou. SBG Ireland’s Charlie Ward, meanwhile, is set to take on Kyle Kurtz.
Rawlings confirmed her booking Wednesday following an initial report by The Irish Mirror.
Rawlings (7-9) has been in an absolute tailspin in her MMA career. She left the UFC on a four fight losing streak, dating back to 2016. Taking a number of bareknuckle boxing bouts in BKFC, Rawlings got back into the spotlight as the ‘Queen of Bare Knuckle’ — winning three fights and claiming the Police Gazette Bare-Knuckle Championship.
She then signed on with Bellator MMA, debuting at Bellator 231 in October, only to fall by unanimous decision to Ilara Joanne.
Opponent Kallionidou (7-3) is yet to have her hand raised in the Bellator cage, going 0-3 in the promotion. She’s coming off a loss to Bruna Ellen last July, but picked up a pair of wins outside the promotion prior to that.
As for Conor McGregor teammate Charlie Ward (7-4), the middleweight had a four-fight win streak snapped in his last outing, losing a unanimous decision to Pietro Penini Jr. Opponent Kyle Kurtz (10-7), meanwhile, will enter the fight on a two-fight win streak.
Bellator Dublin takes place February 22 at the 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland. The card is topped by James Gallagher vs. Cal Ellenor.
