A light heavyweight clash featuring Justin Ledet and Aleksa Camur is pending for the UFC Raleigh card this coming January.
The UFC is coming to Raleigh, North Carolina on January 25, 2020. The card is headlined by heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes going up against former UFC champion Junior Dos Santos. With the UFC Raleigh card all about full, sources confirm to Cageside Press that Justin Ledet will fight Aleksa Camur, a bout that will likely round off the card.
Prior to signing with the promotion, Justin Ledet (9-2, 1NC) was 6-0 with a no contest. He started off hot in the UFC going on a three fight win streak. That stretch saw him beat Marc Godbeer, Azunna Anyanwu, and Chase Sherman. He’s hit a bit of a rough patch of late, however, and has lost his last two fights. Those losses came to Johnny Walker and Aleksandar Rakić. Ledet is now 0-2 since he made the move down to light heavyweight in 2018.
Standing across from Ledet at UFC Raleigh will be undefeated prospect Aleksa Camur. The Ohio based fighter is coming off a Contender Series win this past Summer that earned him a UFC contract. This will be the first time ‘Gamut’ has faced someone with as much experience as Ledet.
Training out of Strong Style Fight Team, Camur is a sparring partner of UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. Undefeated as an amateur and 6-0 as a professional he has a lot of momentum behind him.
The two will square off January 25, 2020 at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, with the two battling on the preliminary card. The fight is a clear case of experience and higher-level competition (Justin Ledet) going up against a young prospect (24-year old Aleksa Camur) with plenty of momentum behind him.
Update: With the announcement of UFC 246, Camur vs. Ledet has joined that card.
