Ross Pearson returned to the cage Saturday night at Probellum: London, but Davy Gallon gave him a rude welcome, finishing ‘The Real Deal’ with a rolling thunder kick.

Davy Gallon was the underdog heading into Probellum: London on Saturday. UFC veteran Ross Pearson, his opponent in the main event of the evening, knew that, but also knew not to overlook the man. Gallon was no slouch, and Pearson refused to look past him. Still, it’s doubtful anyone outside of Gallon himself envisioned the sort of finish that took place Saturday.

A rarely seen rolling thunder kick ended Pearson’s night early.

That’s a rough finish for Pearson, who was in his first MMA fight since retiring at the end of his UFC run earlier this year. Pearson’s intent was to embark on a new phase of his career. Whether this changes those plans remains to be seen. ‘The Real Deal’ had a win in the boxing ring back in May, and has expressed an interest in continuing to pursue fights in that sport.

Gallon, meanwhile, improved to 18-7-2 with the win. It wouldn’t be surprising to see one of the larger promotions came calling, as the finish is likely to go viral.
