Khadis Ibragimov emptied the gas tank early, but Da Un Jung survived and submitted him in the third round at UFC Shenzhen.
Da Un Jung comes into UFC Shenzhen winning his last 10 fights with nine submissions. Ibragimov is undefeated at 8-0 with five finishes and one defense of the M-1 light heavyweight belt.
Khadis Ibragimov got started right away, winging bombs at Da Un Jung. He backed him against the cage, and threw a good 15 haymakers in a row before Jung finally got out of trouble. Ibragimov was looking for the big overhand punch as Jung was peppering him with straight punches. In the midst of jabs from Jung, Ibragimov cracked him with a left hand and backed him to the cage with a flurry of heavy hooks. Jung survived again as Ibragimov shot for a takedown. Jung landed a knee to the head, then Ibragimov separated and got back to throwing bombs. The output took a toll on him, as Ibragimov was bloodied up from the jabs and visibly tired at the end of the round.

Jung came out as the fresher fighter in the second round, pumping jabs and mixing in a knee to the body. Ibragimov’s bombs were fewer and farther in between, but they definitely were still there. Jung kept connecting with jabs, but his mouthpiece was not staying in. Ibragimov shot for a takedown against the cage and worked hard for it. Jung went for a kimura, but ended up on his back for the final minute of the round.

Ibragimov was exhausted to start the third and was caught by a one-two. Ibragimov found enough energy to wing three haymakers right into a takedown attempt. Jung rolled for a sweep, but couldn’t complete it. Ibragimov hung on and dragged Jung down twice, but he worked his way up both times. Jung got an arm around the neck and locked up a standing guillotine, forcing the tired Ibragimov to tap.
