In another quick finish at PFL 6 2019, Emiliano Sordi made short work of Bozigit Ataev in a rematch from last season’s playoffs.

The penultimate fight on the ESPN 2 card was a fight with promise at PFL 6 2019 in Atlantic City, NJ on Thursday. Light heavyweights Bozigit Ataev and Emiliano Sordi were anything but household names. However, in their respective season openers this year, both fighters finished, and finished early.

Ataev might be remembered by some from last year’s PFL season at least. But between 2006 and 2017, he had a decade-long break from MMA competition. Sordi had flirted with Bellator and the Contender Series, then lost to Ataev in the PFL post-season last year. That set up the rematch Thursday, with fans a little more familiar with the pair, after their fall meeting, and strong starts to 2019.

This one didn’t take long. After some feeling out, Emiliano Sordi  landed a couple of hard shots on his opponent. That set the tone. Sordi pressed forward, throwing. Little actually connected, but Ataev was already hurt. He fell backward, and Sordi jumped on top. The end result, a pair of right hands by Sordi connected clean, and the ref had seen enough! Both men will head to the post season, but Sordi’s twelve points will have him sitting pretty.
