Andre Muniz will compete on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series for the second time, now against Taylor Johnson, looking for his shot at the UFC.

The big hit show, Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, is back for a third season this summer. Contracts have been sent out and many fights have already been confirmed. Sources have now confirmed to Cageside Press that a middleweight bout between Andre Muniz and Taylor Johnson will go down on August 6.

Muniz was originally supposed to fight Makhmud Muradov but for undisclosed reasons, Muradov pulled out. Muniz, the Brazil native has a 17-4 record. Muniz is currently on a three-fight win streak.

Muniz competed last season on the Contender Series. While he won a unanimous decision, he was not fortunate enough to receive a UFC contract. He hasn’t fought again since that date.

Standing across from Muniz will be 28-year-old Taylor Johnson. Johnson is 5-0 as a pro with a perfect finish rate, with all of his stoppages coming by the way of TKO/KO.

Johnson’s last four fights have been for Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA). Fighting out of San Diego, California, Johnson trains out of Victory MMA under retired NAVY Seal Commander Jocko Willink among others.
