Johnny Walker isn’t getting paid by the minute. Two trips to the octagon, two first round stoppages, with a big win over Justin Ledet at UFC Fortaleza.

After knocking out fellow light heavyweight Khalil Rountree Jr. in his octagon debut, Johnny Walker was back in action at UFC Fortaleza in Brazil on Saturday. The promotion’s second event to be held on streaming service ESPN+, the card had plenty of local talent, Walker among them. He was set to take on Just Ledet, a former heavyweight still looking for his first win in the UFC’s 205lb division.

Walker started out leaning back against the cage, waiting for the opening bell. A head kick, spinning back fist, a soccer kick that may have grazed Ledet, and Ledet was down! What a ferocious opening salvo by Johnny Walker. Walker then swarmed in for some follow-up strikes on Ledet, who was covering up. The ref was soon there to make the save, and Walker had his second UFC win.

Plenty of attention will be given to the soccer kick attempt, but the fact that it missed, combined with it coming in the heat of the moment, helped avoid it becoming another Greg Hardy incident.

“I want to fight again tonight!” Walker called out after in the octagon. “I’m ready, who ever wants to fight me, Russians, Americans, I’m ready.”
