Invicta FC 30 has added seven new fights including a featherweight co-main event between Felicia Spencer and Helena ‘Pretty’ Kolesnyk.
Invicta FC on Wednesday announced the addition of seven bouts to next month’s Invicta FC 30 in Kansas City, MO. Among them, a featherweight co-main event, and the Invicta FC debut of UFC and Ultimate Fighter veteran Heather Jo Clark. The seven bouts help fill out the card headlined by a previously announced main event featuring Jinh Yu Frey vs. Minna Grusander. That pair will battle for the promotion’s vacant atomweight title.
The featherweight co-main event between Felicia Spencer and Helena Kolesnyk comes at a particularly interesting time. With the UFC finally working to develop its women’s featherweight division, the two 145lb’ers could be a fight or two away from the big leagues. Spencer (4-0) has been perfect in her career thus far, with all four fights coming under the Invicta FC banner. The Canadian, who trained in several disciplines from a young age, made the jump to MMA in 2009 and debuted as a pro at Invicta FC 14 in 2015. Kolesnyk (5-1, 1NC), meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back from her first loss as a pro, to Pam Sorenson.
Also on the Invicta FC 30 card, after a couple of years away, Heather Jo Clark returns to action, and makes her Invicta FC debut as well. Clark, who previously fought in Bellator, is best known for her time in the UFC, where she appeared on The Ultimate Fighter 20. Defeated by Felice Herrig on the show, Clark would go 1-2 in the promotion, beating Bec Rawlings at the TUF 20 finale, but losing to Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Alex Grasso. All three of her UFC bouts went to decision.
