The PFL’s final show prior to it rebranding as part of MVP (Most Valuable Promotions) has its headliner set.
PFL Lyon, which takes place on December 19 at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France, will be headlined by Taylor Lapilus (25-4) taking on Mitch McKee (11-0), for the promotion’s inaugural bantamweight championship.
Promotion officials announced the news on Wednesday. No other match-ups have been made official for the card.
Lapilus is currently ranked #3, and McKee #1 overall in the PFL’s 135lb division. Lapilus, however, will have the hometown advantage, fighting in his native France.
A former UFC athlete who had two impressive stints with the promotion (posting a 3-1 record both times out for a 6-2 run overall), Taylor Lapilus left the company on a two-fight win streak, and has won six straight overall after picking up victories in his first four PFL fights. Last time out, he picked up a unanimous decision win over fellow UFC alum Jake “White Kong” Hadley.
McKee shocked many when he was able to upset Sergio Pettis in his promotional debut this past March. Prior to joining the PFL, McKee had spent the bulk of his career with LFA, though he did have a one-off fight for Bellator MMA as well.
As of January 2027, the PFL will fold into Most Valuable Promotions, the brand built in part by Jake Paul.
