The UFC has, as expected, added more homegrown talent to October’s UFC Vancouver.
Promotion officials recently announced the addition of two promising match-ups: Quebec’s Charles Jourdain (16-8-1) will take on England’s Davey Grant (15-7) in bantamweight action, while Kyle Prepolec (18-9) will face Drew Dober (27-15, 1NC) at lightweight.
“Air” Jourdain made his 135lb debut in November in Edmonton, defeating Victor Henry via a Performance of the Night-winning guillotine choke. That snapped a two-fight win streak for the 29-year old.
England’s Davey Grant, the other half of this commonwealth vs. mother country battle, has won his last two, picking up victories opposite Ramon Taveras and Da’Mon Blackshear. Both fights went the distance.
Kyle Prepolec returned to the UFC on short notice at UFC 315 in Montreal this past May, losing to Benoit Saint-Denis. Prepolec, a native of Windsor, Ontario, went 0-2 in the promotion in 2019, and is still in search of his first victory inside the octagon.
One of the more popular lightweights on the roster, Drew Dober has lost three straight fights, and was stopped in his last two. His last win came in 2023, against Ricky Glenn. Most recently, Dober suffered a TKO defeat to Manuel Torres at UFC Mexico City in March.
