LFA lightweight Adam Livingston just may be the next big thing coming out of the promotion and he’s got the opportunity to show it this Friday at LFA 211 against Hugo Oyarzun.
Livingston (5-0) kept his undefeated record going last October at LFA 194 where he scored a TKO victory over Jake Hixenbaugh. Livingston was so amped up he hopped up on his feet and started yelling at anyone and everyone.
“Oh man that’s a good question. What did I say? I honestly don’t remember. I blacked out after that,” Livingston said laughing.
“I was probably like ‘who does he think he is?’ like ‘this is who I am!’ something like that. Hyped myself up after the fight.”
‘Adam Bomb’ is not just a showman. He delivers the goods backing up any talk with action. In 5 professional bouts he’s only gone to decision once delivering a brand of beautiful violence each time out.
It’s part of the full package that is Adam Livingston.
“This isn’t just about fighting. It’s about entertainment too. It takes more than just being a great fighter to be someone nowadays or being in the UFC or being top in the UFC. I definitely focused on building my brand, who is Adam Bomb Livingston,” he said.
“Being recognizable, being memorable, that’s all that stuff that’s super important.”
Moving with a purpose, training with a purpose, but also promoting with a purpose. Talk can’t just be talk these days you must bring substance with it.
“You got to talk your sh*t a little bit. You got to back your sh*t up. That’s the most important thing. There’s people that talk sh*t and don’t back it up and that’s when no one cares about you and people hate on you. Like Conor McGregor now,” said Livingston.
“Everyone’s hating on him now because he’s talking all this sh*t and not backing it up. When he was doing it in the past, backing it up, everyone loved him. I back up what I say.”
Another opportunity to back it up comes at LFA 211 this Friday night against Oyarzun in Salamanca, New York. The challenges he brings to the cage Livingston has already worked through.
“I’m definitely going to have the size on my opponent. He’s shorter, stockier guy, but I’m going to use my length, my power, my speed. My IQ’s a lot higher than a lot of these guys. A lot of them are just dumbos that get in there and think they’re tough,” he said.
Oyarzun replaces Luke Roberts who withdrew from the fight recently. Livingston believes Roberts would have been a much tougher challenge in the grappling department.
“Roberts was more of ‘I am not going to strike at all, just going to grapple’. This whole camp I was grappling my ass off. So it worked out perfect for this matchup. He does like to grapple, but I think the guy before was a tougher grappling guy,” he said.
If there’s one thing you definitely want to give Livingston this Friday night at LFA 211 after the win it’s the microphone.
Seriously, LFA, give him the mic.
“Hopefully I get the mic! I’m not sure if they give the mic out after the fights, but LFA, you’re going to want to put me on the mic after I knock this guy out,” said Livingston.
“I’m coming for that champ Richie (Miranda) whatever his name is, or I want Dana White Contender Series. That’s what I’m going for. I’ll be 24 in August. This is all I do.”
