Kamaru Usman and Joaquin Buckley headline UFC Atlanta on Saturday, a welterweight clash that would almost certainly have title implications were it not for Ian Machado Garry’s recent role as back-up fighter, plus the imminent arrival of Islam Makhachev to 170lbs.

Should Usman win, he’ll remain a long way off from a title shot even as a former UFC champion. Yet for Joaquin Buckley, another win would make it almost undeniable that he is in fact a big player at welterweight.

Also set for the UFC Altanta card, the co-main event finds Rose Namajunas, former strawweight champ, taking on Miranda Maverick in a flyweight battle.
