TTP Ep. 484: Tommy Cuozzi, Jimmy Drago, and UFC Atlanta

Tommy Cuozzi Interview (1:50)

Kicking off this UFC Atlanta edition of TTP is our interview with Dana White’s Contender Series featherweight, Tommy Cuozzi. The North Carolina native discusses his start in MMA, which comes from having martial artists for parents. He also talks about his unique management situation – which started with his parents representing him and now has a UFC veteran at the helm. Plus, we get into the weeds on his Dana White Contender Series matchup in August.

Fights, Dogs and Parlays: UFC Atlanta (17:23)

After an action-acked UFC 316, the UFC stays on the road for UFC Atlanta. The top of the card has some exciting fights for us including two former champions. The main event will see former welterweight king Kamaru Usman look to get back to his winning ways against Joaquin Buckley. And in the co-main event former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas looks to gain some flyweight momentum at the expense of Miranda Maverick. We’ll break down those fights as well as some of our other favorite fights on the main card. Plus, as always, we’re hitting you with an underdog and a plus-money parlay that we think will make your wallet fat this weekend. For this segment, all odds via FanDuel Sportsbook.

Jimmy Drago Interview (24:16)

Closing out this UFC Atlanta edition of TTP is our interview with Dana White’s Contender Series welterweight, Jimmy Drago. Drago discusses his long road to the Contender Series and how he felt getting that call. This, of course, comes after a performance in LFA where he looked solid, but saw the fight end in a no-contest. We also chat about what that feels like as a fighter and how it may have impacted things for him. Then we get into his Contender Series bout with Ty Miller and break down how he sees the fight going.
