Karl Moore Brings Lessons Learned Against Anderson To Tournament

PFL light heavyweight Karl Moore comes into his fight against Antonio Carlos Junior off a loss to a Bellator champion, and hopes to get back into the win column at PFL World Tournament on Thursday night.

“That fight was five rounds against one of the best guys in the world. It was probably one of the worst training camps I’ve ever had,” Moore told reporters including Cageside Press on Tuesday.

“I’ve done five rounds with Corey (Anderson) at a high pace so knowing that, getting into this fight now, with a better camp. Everything’s much better.”

Moore (12-3) learned plenty about fighting, and about himself against Anderson. The lessons he carries into this tournament and the fight with Carlos Junior.

“Even though I lost the fight and get in this fight with much more confidence. There’s a lot of positives to be taken from it too,” he said.

PFL has changed it’s playoff system turning it into a more traditional tournament style bracket. No longer will fighters need to fight in a regular season with points.

Moore prefers it this way.

“I like it. You win or you go home. It’s pretty straight forward. It skips out the matchmaking process because if you win, he wins, you fight. That’s it,” he said.

“There’s no making fights. You know exactly when your next fight is and who you’re fighting.”
