Sodiq Yusuff is making the move up to lightweight for a short-notice scrap at UFC Vegas 106 on May 17, 2025.
Yusuff (13-4) with face off again Brazil’s Mairon Santos (15-1) on the Fight Night card, with the shift in weight class due to the relatively close date of the event. MMA Fighting was first to report the match-up, with Yusuff confirming the date shortly after.
“Super” Sodiq, historically a featherweight, has not fought since a loss to Diego Lopes at UFC 300 last April, which will make it over a year between fights when he finally returns. That setback marked his second straight loss, after dropping a decision to Edson Barboza in October of 2023.
The Ultimate Fighter 32 winner at featherweight, Mairon Santos is coming off a win over Francis Marshall at UFC 313 in March.
UFC Vegas 106 takes place at the Apex in Las Vegas, with Gilbert Burns and Michael Morales headlining. The following match-ups have been reported for the event:
