Brazil’s Lany Silva capped off LFA 201 in a big way in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Friday night.
Challenging champ Rose Conceição for the LFA women’s strawweight championship in the night’s main event, it took Silva all the way to the fifth round to get the job done. But get it done she did.
In just her eighth fight as a professional, Silva unleashed an absolutely nasty head kick that connected flush with the side of Conceição’s skull. Fellow Brazilian Conceição, who was coming off a loss on Dana White’s Contender Series and returning in an attempt to defend her LFA title for the first time, hit the deck. Or more accurately, she hit the canvas, splayed out.
No follow-up punishment required, as Lany Silva had the walk-off KO.

The UFC, or at least the Contender Series, may just come calling after that highlight reel performance. The win was the third straight for Silva, who has also competed in kickboxing.
Conceição was slow to return to her senses, but was sitting upright after a few minutes. Some time off will certainly be in the cards for the now-former champ.
In her sixth fight with the promotion, Silva, who has also competed for UAE Warriors, earned her first title as a professional mixed martial artist. LFA 201 also crowned a new interim flyweight champ on the men’s side, as Marcos Degli defeated Lincon Santos by knockout in the second round of the card’s co-main event.
