Following his Oktagon 65 win over Jonas Magard, Igor Severino will face Jack Cartwright for the vacant Oktagon Bantamweight Title.

That’s quite the comeback for a fighter who was bounced from the UFC off a major scandal.

Many would have thought Severino’s career was over after he bit Andrè Lima in his UFC debut and was let go from the organization. However, he has found himself on the cusp of a world title.

News of Severino vs .Cartwright was announced by Oktagon MMA officials via press release recently. The fight will take place at Oktagon 70 this April.

Across from Severino stands a tough test in Jack Cartwright. The former title challenger is coming off a win of his own against former Champion Mate Sanikidze. Cartwright’s only loss inside the Oktagon MMA cage was Jonas Magard, whom Severino faced in his promotional debut. Oktagon 70, which is built around three opening round Tipsport Gamechanger bouts, now has a title fight on it as well.

Jonas Magard, former adversary of both men, is waiting in the wings for a potential rematch with either fighter for the title. While Cartwright was on the wrong end of a dominant performance from Magard, Severino edged past him with a split decision in December. A rematch with either fighter would certainly interest Oktagon, let alone the fanbase across all of Europe.

Oktagon 70 takes place on April 26, 2025 at the KV Arena in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.
