Welterweight Matthew Semelsberger made his 11th walk to the UFC octagon on Saturday, taking on Charles Radtke on the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 100.
For “Semi the Jedi,” the fight was key, coming in off three straight losses and needing a win to keep his run with the company alive. “Chuck Buffalo” Radtke, in comparison, was entering off a single loss to Carlos Prates, who happened to be headlining Saturday’s card.
Radtke found success early in the fight, which was over almost before it started. His left hand was lightning fast, powerful, and accurate. Semelsberger was wobbled, hurt, and stumbling after one left hit the side of the head, and another shortly after glanced off the temple. That later blow was accompanied by a right that had Matthew Semelsberger falling to his knees. With that, the ref had seen enough
“Oh sh*t, I’ll tell you what, how’s you all like that f*cking knockout?” Radtke hollered following the win, saying he expected a 15 minute war. “Much respect to Matt by the way.”
Radtke then made his case for a bonus, noting he’d earned the finish in just 51 seconds. “Give me that money. Give me it! Or else I’m going to have to keep knocking out the whole welterweight division. Bunch of b*tches!” At the same time, Radtke got emotional talking about fighting for his family, saying he was blessed to have the opportunity.
Official Result: Charles Radtke def. Matthew Semelsberger by TKO (punches), Round 1, 0:51
