Kevin Jousset Stresses Himself On Purpose Leading To Fight Night

Paris – UFC welterweight Kevin Jousset had a smile on his face when told his opponent at UFC Paris, Bryan Battle, called him boring.

“We’ll see on Saturday night who’s boring,” Jousset told reporters on Wednesday.

Jousset (10-2) said in recent interviews that he tries to stress himself in the lead up to fight night. An odd thing to do seeing as fight night itself is as stressful as it comes for many fighters, but the Frenchman clarified what he meant.

“Not during fight week. During fight camp. During fight camp specially some sparring or some training. I try to put myself mentally in a fight situation. The way I warm up with my coach same as I’m going to warm up during the fights,” he said.

“I put myself in a situation where I feel I’m about to fight so I kind of stress myself before I even get to this training. Which means I feel pretty much the same way I’m going to feel on fight night.”

“When I fight I don’t stress as much since I’ve been doing that because it’s like I’ve done it eight or nine times in a row. 9 weeks in a row before fight night,” he said.

“Then I get to fight night I just feel this no more because I’ve done it 9 times in a row for the past 9 weeks.”
