A five-round lightweight showdown between France’s own Benoit St-Denis and popular Brazilian Renato Moicano has been booked for the UFC’s return to Paris.
Set for September 28, 2024 at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, this year’s UFC Paris card has just begun to take shape. News of St-Denis and “Money” Moicano was first reported by Ag.Fight.
St-Denis (13-2, 1NC) saw a five-fight win streak stopped at UFC 299 in March, when he was quickly knocked out by Dustin Poirier. “The Diamond” went on to face Islam Makhachev in a failed bid for lightweight gold; “BSD” will be looking to bounce back against Moicano.
During his five-fight streak, St-Denis notched wins over Matt Frevola, Thiago Moises, and others. He’s 5-2 inside the octagon overall.
Renato Moicano (19-5-1) has won three straight, and seen his popularity soar in a stretch that has seen him pick up victories against Drew Dober, Jalin Turner, and Brad Riddell. Most recently, he finished Turner via TKO at UFC 300 in April.
Benoit St-Denis is ranked #12, and Moicano #10 in the UFC’s lightweight rankings.
To date, there has been no main event announced or reported for this year’s UFC Paris card. Three fights have been revealed for the Fight Night event on Sept. 28. They break down as follows:
- Renato Moicano vs. Benoit St-Denis
- William Gomis vs. Joanderson Brito
- Germaine de Randamie vs. Nora Cornolle
