A pair of top 5 women’s strawweight’s have been booked for battle as Amanda Lemos will face Virna Jandiroba at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on July 20th.

Amanda Lemos (14-3-1) is currently the #3 ranked UFC strawweight and has won 3 of her last 4 fights. Amanda’s last time out was back in February when she scored a unanimous decision victory over the always game, Mackenzie Dern. The feature preliminary bout of UFC 298 was action-packed, and the two women won fight of the night honors for their performances. Amanda’s last loss was as a strawweight title challenger opposite of Zhang Weili last August.
Virna Jandiroba (20-3) is ranked as the #5 UFC strawweight and is on a 3-fight winning streak. Jandiroba scored solid unanimous decision victories over Angela Hill, Marina Rodriguez and Lupita Godinez. The Brazilian grappling ace will head into the bout holding a respectable 6-3 record under the UFC’s promotional banner.
This title eliminator bout looks to be a classic striker vs. grappler matchup, and it is slated for the main card.
