Magomed Umalatov “Ready For the Next” Main Event After PFL 3 Win

Chicago, IL — Undefeated welterweight standout Magomed Umalatov came away from PFL 3 in Chicago with a three-round decision win over Andrey Koreshkov, and the accompanying three points towards the post-season.

Umalatov isn’t known as a talkative guy— his fights tend to speak for him, and on Friday he improved to 15-0, this time defeating a former Bellator champ in the process.

“I feel great. I’m a winner,” he said following the fight, speaking with media outlets including Cageside Press. “That’s important. I knew he’s a tough guy, but that’s okay sometimes. I had some injuries.”

The game plan, he added, “was to use my boxing and wrestling. That’s it, [that’s] what I did today.”

Asked about the next round of the tournament, Russia’s Umalatov said simply “I don’t know, I’m just waiting. I’m ready for everyone.” He was, however, far more upbeat on his performance on Saturday, against a well-travelled veteran and champion of a promotion that recently routed the PFL in head-to-head competition.

“I got [my] first fight with a top guy, he’s a former Bellator champion,” Umalatov exclaimed. “I’m happy with him.”

He was also happy with landing his first main event in the PFL. “I hope it’s not my last main event. I’m ready for the next one too.”
