UFC APEX – UFC featherweight Damon Jackson isn’t going to be buds with Alexander Hernandez anytime soon due to his opponent’s comments about a close friend, but he’ll have a chance to put his hands on him at UFC Vegas 90 on Saturday night.
“I’m actually pretty tight with (Donald) Cowboy Cerrone. Him and my coach used to be teammates so when he (Hernandez) talked a lot of smack with Cowboy it kind of lit some fire in me,” Jackson told reporters on Wednesday.
“I was like dude this guy’s so arrogant he talked to much smack. Ever since then I kind of just haven’t liked him. Definitely when I got the matchup I was excited for sure.”
Jackson (22-6) came up in Texas at the same time as Hernandez, but that doesn’t mean he’s letting those comments about Cowboy go.
“Look back at the press conference. He talked about how old Cowboy was and how he was just going to tool him. He was going to do whatever he wanted to him. He talked a lot of smack man,” he said.
“It is what it is. It wasn’t about me. I don’t take anything personally really. I don’t really not like a whole lot of people, but I just don’t like him. I don’t know what it is, but something about his face.”
