Morgan Charriere Not Worried About Topping UFC Debut

UFC APEX – Coming off a spectacular finish in his UFC debut in his home country in France featherweight Morgan Charriere will have a tough time topping that when he faces Chepe Mariscal at UFC Vegas 90 on Saturday night.

“That’s really hard to top that. Just try to really stay focused and I’m not trying to top my last performance. It was a really great performance,” Charriere told reporters on Wednesday.

“I’m just sticking to my plan, to my training, if this fight can get better…I don’t think so because it’s really hard. It would be great, but otherwise I’m just trying to win it in a great way with a great finish.”

Charriere (19-9) did give some idea as to what could top his UFC debut in France.

“Yeah maybe (win) the title can top that. Or just have a main event in Paris. A main event in Paris could top this, but debut in Paris, first round knockout, performance of the night…yeah,” he said.

“Hard to top that.”

At UFC Vegas 90 he’ll try to put on another great performance against Mariscal.

“I just want to win the fight so I really don’t knowwhat will happen. I just know that I have my game plan and I will stick to it,” he said.

“If everything comes like we plan I should get a finish, but will it be quick? I don’t know. Chepe’s really tough.”
