Sergio Cassio Barked At His Opponent Before Walking Out To The Cage

San Diego, CA – Bellator lightweight Sergio Cassio had a rollercoaster of a debut as his opponent, Jesse Roberts, put him in tough spots on the ground, but he ultimately emerged victorious at Bellator 300 on Saturday night.

“I’m very happy, very grateful. Yes I was in danger many times, but I never lost faith, never lost hope,” Cassio told reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum.

“I was always there present, and things happened like they happened, thank you.”

For Cassio this was his Bellator debut, and while he was in danger in plenty of spots at Bellator 300 against Roberts, he was able to pull off the win. There is still plenty of work to be done.

“I think I have to work out a bunch of details. I have to work my jiu-jitsu and my wrestling, but I think we’re good, we’re strong, thanks to God. I’m going to continue training and improving to get to the bigger fights and one day fight for the title,” he said.

Just before walkouts Cassio was seen barking at his opponent. Literally barking.

“I always try to put on a show. I express my emotions because I have a lot of energy, and honestly I try to intimidate my opponent a little bit, and get in their heads so they know they’ll have a warrior in front of them, and to get ready. I won’t be easy to finish, it won’t be easy to beat me. To beat me you’ll have to kill me, and to kill me you’ll have to be ready to die,” he said.

“I am a f*cking dragon! Green dragon!”
