Carlos Ulberg Sees Opportunity To Rise Up In His Division With Win Over Jung

Sydney, Australia – UFC light heavyweight Carlos Ulberg comes into UFC 293 wondering why he’s getting an opponent on a losing streak, but still game to fight Da Woon Jung on Saturday night.

“Although he’s on a losing streak at the moment I’ve always seem to look at him as a dangerous opponent coming up into the ranks. I’ve been watching him for a time now,” Ulberg told reporters on Wednesday.

“Even though he’s had those two losses I feel like he’s still learning. He’s still young. He’s a complete martial artists. Won’t be looking past that. It’s going to either be a bloody war or an easy night in the office for me.”

Even with an opponent who’s been down on their luck Ulberg sees an opportunity to make his way up the rankings with win at UFC 293. The 205 division is pretty wide open at the moment so the opportunity to make big waves is there for Ulberg.

“I’ve done my study on the division. You just have to keep an eye on your division and watch all the fights and make sure you keep on top of it. Who’s going where, and who’s winning, and who’s losing, and who’s got the momentum,” he said.

“I feel like I’m in the right place at the right time. I finish this fight, and I get this fight out of the way, we’re going places.”
