Kevin Jousset Not Fazed By First UFC Fight Week, Touts City Kickboxing Gym

Sydney, Australia – Making his UFC debut at UFC 293 on Saturday night is welterweight Kevin Jousset who takes on fellow debutant Kiefer Crosbie.

Jousset (8-2) is making his UFC debut, but it’s not his first time witnessing fight week with the promotion. The Frenchman currently resides in New Zealand and trains out of the famed City Kickboxing gym which boasts plenty of UFC talent on their roster.

“It’s very similar (to past fight weeks). The only difference up to now is they put some makeup on my face. Otherwise it’s been the same thing already. More media obviously, but yeah I was expecting it,” Jousset told reporters on Wednesday.

Jousset has gotten a decent amount of press obligations in his first official UFC fight week as a fighter, and he gives the credit to the gym he trains at.

“I would say first off I’m lucky to come from a gym where there’s big names. They’ve seen my fights. Things you see looks cool so I guess that’s two reasons,” he said.

He takes on another debuting fighter in Crosbie. Jousset has done his homework on his opponent.

“I’ve seen a couple of his fights on YouTube. He seems to be an aggressive striker,” said Jousset.

“He seems to be very good at his craft, but whoever I fight, I always focus on myself more than my opponent. At the end of the day you can’t really know what he’s going to do.”
