A pair of debuting featherweights faced off at UFC Paris when Morgan Charriere took on Manolo Zecchini. And the outcome was certainly explosive.

France’s Charriere would have the hometown advantage, so to speak, against Italy’s Zecchini, with both fighters riding modest win streaks.

The fight got underway and Charriere went to work with the jab. They both looked comfortable with striking early on. Zecchini landed big three right hands but Charriere took them fine. Charriere got more of a reaction when he landed however. He was landing more power with the kicks, and the one-two as well. Zecchini was winding up on the head kicks and overhand but Charriere was very good defensively.

Charriere then landed a nasty liver kick that seemed to hurt Zecchini. He landed a front kick to the body that dropped Zecchini to his knees, and another kick to the body that shut the Italian down completely. Nasty finish from “The Last Pirate” Morgan Charriere and a huge win in his promotional debut, at home in front of the French faithful. The victory gives Charriere four straight wins dating back to his Cage Warriors run, and likely puts him in the running for a post-fight bonus.

Official Result: Morgan Charriere def. Manolo Zecchini by TKO (body kick), Round 1, 3:51
