Just last week, Josefine Knutsson was snubbed of a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. That decision turned heads, given Knutsson is an undefeated talent in a division always looking for fresh faces.

As it turns out, that doesn’t really matter, as Sweden’s Knutsson has signed on with the UFC regardless. Per this Tuesday’s Dana White’s Contender Series broadcast, Knutsson will make her promotional debut against Iasmin Lucindo in a little over two week’s time at Noche UFC.

The fight will take place at a 120lb catchweight. Lucindo had previously been linked for a fight with Elise Reed.

Knutsson (6-0), who got her start in kickboxing, transitioned to MMA in 2021 and has not looked back. Prior to her DWCS appearance, she competed under the UAE Warriors banner.

Brazil’s Lucindo (15-5) has won her last two fights, most recently getting her hand raised over countrywoman Polyana Viana.

Noche UFC takes place on September 16, 2023 in Las Vegas, NV at the T-Mobile Arena, and is being held in conjunction with Mexican Independence Day. The card is headlined by a women’s flyweight title fight, as Alexa Grasso runs it back with Valentina Shevchenko.
