Legacy Fighting Alliance was in action Friday with LFA 165 going down at the Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, California.
It was not smooth sailing ahead of the event. A full four fighters missed weight at Thursday’s official weigh-in, with three of them on the main card, including co-headliner Buddy Wallace. All four fights moved forward, however, with Wallace, Christian Giovannie, Leandro Soares, and Lucas Martino coughing up a percentage of their purse to their opponents.
In the main event, middleweights Daniel Compton and Renato Valente faced off in middleweight action, with Bellator vet Compton coming in off a win of former UFC fighter Maki Pitolo. Valente for his part was looking to halt Compton’s five-fight win streak, and bounce back from a loss to Azamat Bekoev.
