As expected, it appears the UFC has selected an August 5, 2023 date for its return to Nashville, Tennessee.

Over the weekend, Cageside Press queried UFC President Dana White about the August 5 date, with White saying only that “it’s not official” as the promotion had yet to announced the event. However, during Monday’s scheduled meeting of the Tennessee Athletic Commission, it was revealed by commission rep Roxana Gumucio that the UFC is indeed headed to town for that August date.

“UFC is coming, they’ve set their date for August 5,” noted Gumucio, who added that the organization had obtained a promoter’s license for the event.

It appears with that in mind that this year’s UFC Nashville card is simply waiting on an official announcement, which is likely to come shortly. The event is expected to take place at the Bridgestone Arena.

The company last visited Nashville, TN in 2019, with nearly 11,000 fans attending an event headlined by Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and Anthony Pettis. The promotion also made stops in 2017, 2015, 2012, and 2009.

Currently booked for the August 5, 2023 event are the following match-ups:

  • Virna Jandiroba vs. Tatiana Suarez
  • Tanner Boser vs. Aleksa Camur
  • Dustin Jacoby vs. Kennedy Nzechukwu
  • Said Nurmagomedov vs. Kyler Phillips
  • Ode’ Osbourne vs. Asu Almabaev
