The UFC’s May 13 Fight Night card has added a veteran vs. up-and-comer match-up at welterweight.

The second event of the month will see Tim Means take on Alex Morono at a location and venue yet to be officially announced.

Morono and Means both confirmed the news on Tuesday, following an initial report by MMA Junkie.

Means (32-14-1), 39, has been with the UFC over a decade, and has become a fan favorite during his time with the promotion. 2022 was a rough year for “The Dirty Bird,” however, as he lost both his appearances, losing by submission to Kevin Holland before dropping a split decision to Max Griffin.

Morono (22-8, 1NC), 32, saw a four fight win streak snapped in his last outing, when he was knocked out by Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC 282 in December. Prior to that, he’d picked up wins over Matthew Semelsberg and newly announced UFC Hall of Fame inductee Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, among others.

While the UFC’s May 13 card lacks a location or broadcast plan at the moment, it does have a main event in the form of light heavyweights Anthony Smith and Johnny Walker. Thus far, the following match-ups have been reported for the date:

  • Anthony Smith vs. Johnny Walker
  • Jessica-Rose Clark vs. Tainara Lisboa
  • Matt Brown vs. Court McGee
  • Jailton Almeida vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
  • Mackenzie Dern vs. Angela Hill
  • Jake Matthews vs. Gabe Green
  • Douglas Silva de Andrade vs. Cody Stamann
  • Kim Ji-yeon vs. Mandy Böhm
  • Daniel Rodriguez vs. Ian Garry
