10 Bantamweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2023

Serhiy Sidey

26 | 5’10″ | Burlington, Ontario, Canada | 7-1 | 5 Finishes | 4 KO/TKOs, 1 Submission | Combined Opponents’ Record: 10-6 | Best Win – Ali Wasuk (4-1)

Sidey is the current BFL bantamweight champion, first winning the title back in September of 2021. He defended his title twice in the span of five months. His only loss is to Mateo Vogel, who is a solid fighter as well. The UFC will be coming to Canada this year and the promotion badly needs more talent from the area.

Sidey is well-rounded. He’s a good technical striker along with good muay thai and kickboxing. He’d defensively sound everywhere. Sidey has a strong ground game even off his back and good submission defense. He only holds one submission but is dangerous for sure. His resume isn’t too stong but his skillset is.

“I train Monday to Monday. I make sure my training, nutrition, recovery, and sleep is all at the highest level,” he told Cageside Press. “2023 is the year I show the UFC that I’m the next best thing from Canada.”
