Footage Surfaces Of Jorge Masvidal Arrest, Interview With Miami Beach PD

Miami, FL – One of the wildest rivalries in MMA came to a head on March 23rd of this year when UFC welterweights Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington had an incident outside of a Miami Beach restaurant. Footage of Masvidal’s arrest surfaced Thursday.

The YouTube channel Real World Police posted the footage.

Masvidal, 38, was arrested after the incident and taken into a police station for questioning.

The incident outside of the restaurant followed Masvidal’s decision loss to Covington at UFC 272. The loss extended Masvidal’s losing streak to three and the heat spilled onto the streets of Miami where both fighters live and train.

In the footage Masvidal is shown to be cooperative with police even going as far as to joke with them a bit. In one part in the video Masvidal says he had promised himself he’d never be in a position to be arrested again, but “here we are.”

Masvidal’s previous trial dates have been postponed repeatedly. The UFC star has plead not guilty and is expected to stand trial in early 2023. A pre-trial hearing is set for Feb 15, and his trial is scheduled to begin on Feb 27 in Miami.

Masvidal faces multiple felonies including criminal mischief and aggravated battery.
