UFC San Diego: Martin Buday Enjoyed War With Brzeski, Doesn’t Mind APEX Fights

San Diego, CA – UFC heavyweight Martin Buday picked up his second UFC win when he earned a decision victory over Lukasz Brzeski on Saturday night.

“I enjoyed that fight. I was expecting that Lukasz would be tough opponent so maybe it don’t go the distance, but I think me and him really enjoyed that fight. Was war,” Buday told Cageside Press among other media outlets at his post-fight scrum.

Buday and Brzeski seemingly threw everything they had at each other to the point that both men were exhausted at the end of the fight.

“We were planning to clinch more with him, but he declined it a few times so we want to go to plan b to try with hands. And I enjoyed it. It was a long time I had a fight like this. It was good. He didn’t surprise me so much,” Buday said.

“We expected this from him. Long hands, long hooks. Low kicks, calf kicks.”

On Friday at weigh-ins Buday came in with a 30-pound advantage over Brzeski which may have played a factor in the fight.

“I didn’t have so much opportunity to test (the strength difference) in this fight, but I think it will be significant when we go to clinch.”

With the UFC now taking Fight Night cards to arenas in other cities many fighters have expressed a sort of unwillingness to return to the UFC APEX. Buday enjoyed the crowds, but has no issues with fighting at the APEX.

“I really enjoyed it in the APEX also. It’s first time with the fans and I enjoyed it also too, but doesn’t matter the place. With fans or without fans I will enjoy the fight either way,” Buday said.
