After a year and a half on the sidelines, flyweight Tyson Nam returned to action at UFC San Diego. Welcoming him back was the surging Ode Osbourne, who had proved to have real power in his hands of late.

Nam proved he had dynamite in his hands as well on Saturday.

The first half of round one played out on the feet, with Nam and Osbourne trading mainly single strikes. Odbourne went to the body with a kick, and they’d battle it out for a few more minutes. Osbourne then launched a flying knee that he would later come to regret. Nam countered with a right hand to the side of the head that knocked Osbourne back. He rolled over himself, and Nam charged forward, landing a second right hand to the side of Osbourne’s head.

The perfectly timed initial strike and follow-up blow was all that was required. Osbourne was out, and Nam was back in a big way after all that time off.

“Two months tops!” Nam said when asked about getting back in the octagon, adding that he would have a callout to post on social media site Instagram later in the evening.

Official Result: Tyson Nam def. Ode Osbourne by knockout, Round 1, 2:59
