LFA 137: Alandria Brown Hoping to Stay with Promotion “Until I Go to the UFC”

Commerce, CA — Channeling her inner Harley Quinn at LFA 137, complete with a “Daddy’s Lil Chica” shirt was strawweight Alandria Brown, improving to 2-1 as a pro with a first-round submission of Jasmine Pouncy.

Having spent the entirety of her pro career under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner, Brown hopes to see that continue. Speaking to Cageside Press following her victory, Brown told us that “I really want to be here my whole fight career until I go to the UFC. So hopefully they re-sign me.”

There’s little reason not to. Brown, a training partner of former UFC strawweight Kay Hansen, has finished both of her wins as a pro. Admittedly, she had to overcome a bit of adversity against Pouncy on Friday, but still got the job done care of a rear-naked choke.

“She caught me with a 1-2 right off the jump, and I was not expecting that,” Brown admitted. “But I think it woke my ass up, and I was like ‘okay, it’s time to fight.’ I knew once I got a hold of her and I got it down to the ground, it was going to be over, it was just a matter of getting her down to the ground.”

Coming off a loss and early in her career, Brown admitted that the fight was huge for her. “But I was happy, I had no nerves, I knew I was going to win. I trained so hard, this is my whole freakin’ life. And I knew all the work was done and it was just time to go have fun.”
