Dressed for Success, Bellator 283’s Dalton Rosta “Having Fun” with Cotton Feud

Undefeated Bellator middleweight Dalton Rosta showed up at Wednesday’s media day dressed to the nines — a familiar fight week sight.

This time out, it was a David Alan Clothing suit, a designer who has worked with pro wrestlers in WWE and AEW. For Rosta (who happens to have appeared on AEW programming in the past), the suit is “More of a dress for success [thing],” he told Cageside Press on Wednesday. “I love the suits though.”

“I’m just dressed. I mean business, and I don’t want to just show that in the cage. During fight week, I want to show up and show that as well.”

While it’s all business for Rosta (6-0) in the cage, he’s also called out opponent Romero Cotton several times. Depending on which athlete you talk to, they’ve been booked between two to four times, with Cotton pulling out. Despite that, the business at hand isn’t personal for American Top Team’s Rosta.

“It’s not personal. I’m having fun with it, though. He’s pulled out three times, this is the fourth time.” Fights in 2020, last year, and earlier this year all fell through, noted Rosta. Several times, he wound up paired up with a southpaw, the complete opposite of Romero.

“I was tired of wasting camps, preparing for somebody and then getting the opposite style and having to reprogram everything three weeks out. I was kind of over it, but Bellator obviously wants to make it happen,” Rosta explained. “Like I said, it’s not personal at all, but I’m having fun with it. Because obviously the guy, he’s a coward. He was trying to find ways to get out of the fight.”

Rosta does believe that the AKA fighter was ducking him. “He didn’t want to fight. He’s been taking fights against cans pretty much his whole career. His last fight was a guy that was sitting on the sidelines for 13 years and had a losing record. And he gets a finish, he might feel confident, but we’ll see how confident he feels on Friday. Because he’s stepping in the cage with a different animal. I’m not somebody with a losing record, I’m not a can I’m not somebody that hasn’t fought in 13 years. This is a huge step up in competition for him, and it’s going to show on Friday.”
