Amanda Ribas Looks To Return In Late 2022, Talks Surgery Following Last Bout

Las Vegas, NV – One of the more popular personalities in the UFC strawweight Amanda Ribas says she’s looking to return in the second half of 2022.

Ribas (11-3) comes off a tough loss to Katlyn Chookagian in a visit to the flyweight division. A return to the cage to get back into the winner’s circle is the goal for Ribas.

“I hope (to return) soon because I did a surgery. There is one month (since the surgery) this week. My recovery is really good, thank God, and I need to train really hard now to see how it will go. I think (i’ll return) this year. I hope, I really hope, I will fight in October maybe November. I need to see,” Ribas told Cageside Press before flexing for the cameras.

Ribas was taking part in UFC X on Friday as part of the International Fight Week festivities leading up to UFC 276 on Saturday night.

“I’m here not as a fighter, but as a fan too. Look at this UFC X is amazing, so are the people, so is the cage here. I’m emotional to be here,” Ribas said after showing the camera the goosebumps on her arm.

Since the very beginning of her UFC run, from the infamous “Hellowwww!” in her first media day interview to UFC X, the strawweight fighter always keep the mood light.

“It’s crazy because if they don’t know me when I wake up you know? Because I’m not that funny person,” Ribas said with a laugh. “My family, my boyfriend can tell that, but I believe in vibes.”

“When you put a good vibes (out there) good vibes come back to you. So I truly believe in that.”
