ONE Championship’s upcoming ONE 159 in July will have the promotion’s middleweight title on the line.
Double champ Reinier de Ridder (15-0) will face former ONE middleweight champion Vitaly Bigdash (12-2) in the main event of ONE 159 on July 22, 2022. In the co-main event, meanwhile, an interim women’s atomweight Muay Thai champion will be crowned when Janet Todd takes on Lara Fernandez.
de Ridder captured both of his titles in back-to-back wins over Myanmar’s Aung La N Sang, then defended the middleweight belt against Kiamrian Abbasov last year. Bigdash recently completed a trilogy with N Sang, capturing his third straight win under the ONE Championship banner — and securing a shot at his old title.
Promotion officials announced the news via press release on Friday. The full card for the Singapore-based event was announced, including a strawweight clash between the #2 and #3 fighters in the division, Bokang Masunyane and Hiroba Minowa.
