Tom Breese returned to action in March, winning the Levels Fight League middleweight title in his first bout since parting ways with the UFC last year.

Now, Breese (13-3) will defend that title at LFL 5 on June 26, taking on Egyptian fighter Ahmed Sami (7-1).

Promotion officials announced the match-up in a press release distributed Wednesday. Breed vs. Sami will serve as the main event of Levels Fight League 5.

Breese joined the UFC in 2015 as a welterweight, rattling off three straight wins before running into future title contender Sean Strickland the following year. From there, the British fighter began alternating wins and losses, while struggling to stay active due to injury. Breese missed all of 2019, and finished his run with the company in a losing effort against Omari Akhmedov.

Challenger Sami sits on a six-fight win streak dating back to 2015, with a No Contest in the mix. He returned from a four-year absence earlier this year, winning a split decision against Yousri Belgaroui at UAE Warriors 25 in February.

In the co-main event of LFL 5, an inaugural Levels Fight League lightweight champion wiil be crowned as Dutch-based fighter Albanian Manuel Gaxhja (7-0) takes on Bellator alum Akonne Wanliss (5-2).

LFL 5 will stream live via LFLMMA.com on June 26, 2022, and takes place at the Transformhatorhuis in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
