Nearly three years later, Ryan Bader and Cheick Kongo finally run it back at Bellator 280 this Friday in Paris, France.
The pair’s first fight, in 2019, saw an early end due to an accidental eye poke. Kongo, from that point onward, would pursue a rematch, at times accusing Bader of being a dirty fighter. But come fight week ahead of the Paris card, it was all business between the pair. Whether that remains the case inside the cage on Friday remains to be seen.
In the co-main event at Bellator 280, Yoel Romero looks to snap a four-fight skid, and notch his first Bellator win. He’ll do so against Alex Polizzi, stepping in to replace Melvin Manhoef in the fight. Interestingly enough, Polizzi is a younger, arguably fresher fighter who is ranked higher than the man he’s replacing in the 205 pound weight class — no easy out, in other words.
