Former UFC fighter Justine Kish, recently picked up by Bellator MMA, will make her promotional debut at next month’s Bellator 274.
Kish (7-4) is set to take on Ultimate Fighter alum DeAnna Bennett (11-7-1) at the event, taking place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on February 19, 2022. Both fighters confirmed the booking on social media following an initial report by MMA Junkie.
The flyweight contest will see Kish looking to shake off a two-fight skid that spelled the end of her UFC career. In her past two outings, Kish dropped fights to prospects Tracy Cortez and Sabina Mazo.
Kish returned to the 125lb weight class in 2018, and has posted a 1-3 record since.
DeAnna Bennett recently got back in the win column. The 37-year old snapped a three-fight losing streak when she defeated former title challenger Alejandra Lara at Bellator 266, via unanimous decision. Heading into that fight, she’d dropped fights to top contender Liz Carmouche, and under the Invicta FC banner, Miranda Maverick and Karina Rodriguez.
Bellator 274, the promotion’s second card of the year, is headlined by a non-title welterweight contest featuring former title challenger Neiman Gracie taking on wrestling standout Logan Storley.
While Bennett vs. Kish is joining the Bellator 274 card, the event lost a fight per MMA Junkie’s initial report: Veta Arteaga and Keri Taylor-Melendez is off for undisclosed reasons.
