It is difficult to top what has been one of the most amazing calendar years in mixed martial arts, but we tried our best with the top five match-ups to be made in 2022.
After beginning the year fully ingrained in what can only be called the “new normal,” the MMA world enjoyed one of their greatest calendar years in 2022. Almost all champions made multiple appearances in the twelve month span and there were plenty of electrifying performances in high profile fights throughout the year.
If 2021 began with optimism, then 2022 enters with both high expectations and a cautious level of trepidation. Several important fights are on deck and several more could come to fruition depending on who emerges victorious throughout the year. That said, fans have their sights set on the return of several major stars over the next twelve months.
As a final note, some of these bouts are already on the schedule while others will still need to clear several hurdles before they become a reality.
