I didn’t think much of Barlow but my opinion changed when he made his pro debut last October. There are still major concerns regarding his takedown defense and how he fares off his back. Barlow is solely a striker that you will see complete takedowns just to secure rounds. There are complaints on his inability to throw combinations and instead throw a strike at a time.
With that said, his accuracy and his vision outshine his output. Even though he relies on his single strikes he’s out-struck all his foes. Credited to his hands, Barlow also throws a lot of kicks. He even likes to throw a lot of wheel kicks and a variety of flashy attacks.
Barlow is really athletic and has a real feel on finishing a fight. He will throw sometimes with a lot of wasted energy usually missing wide on his flashy attacks. Last fight he threw a lot of high-velocity attacks but never slowed down. Barlow still needs to answer a lot of questions. He probably looked so good in his last fight because his opponent let him fight his fight and never pressed Barlow. I’m on the fence with Barlow but that’s expected with an untested young pro fighter.
