Carlston Harris would continue his winning ways at UFC Vegas 37, winning his fifth straight fight as he defeated Impa Kasanganay via TKO in round one.

After being posterized in the Knockout of the Year in 2020, Impa Kasanganay had bounced back against Sasha Palatnikov to kick off his 2021 campaign. On Saturday, at UFC Vegas 37, “King Impa” looked to build on that submission win against Carlston Harris.

Harris was riding a four-fight win streak and had won his Octagon debut back in May as he submitted Christian Aguilera. The win gave him considerable momentum heading into the bout at UFC Vegas 37.

Both Kasangany and Harris opened up swinging in round one, however, it wasn’t long before Harris shot for a takedown. Harris wasn’t able to get it though, and the two went right back to trading, as they both were winging heavy hooks early. Harris kept winging those heavy shots but not many were making their way through, especially not clean; it was the same case for Kasanganay.

However that would all change near the end of the round. Kasaganay shot in with a left hook of his own that was countered with a clean right hook from Harris. Harris would land another flurry of shots before Kasagngany went spiraling down; Harris jumped on with some hammer fists and the fight was stopped.

It’s worth noting that Kasaganany didn’t like the stoppage, but he was taking loads of damage. Amazing win for Carlton Harris, as he gets his fifth win in a row, and his second straight stoppage win within the UFC.

As for Impa Kasanganay, this is his second loss via brutal knockout in his last three fights after coming into the UFC as an undefeated fighter.

Official Result: Carlton Harris def. Impa Kasanganay by TKO, Round 1, 2:38
