A pair of UFC heavyweights will look to further their winning streak this fall.
MMA Fighting was the first to report the news that Ben Rothwell will fight Marcos Rogerio de Lima on November 13 at a yet-to-be-announced fight card. De Lima later confirmed the booking on social media.
Rothwell (39-13) got back into the win column in his last fight. After several canceled bouts and opponent changes, he submitted Chris Barnett with a rare go-go choke. Before that win, he went 1-1 in 2020. “Big Ben” defeated Ovince St. Preux via split decision and then lost to a surging Marcin Tybura.
Brazil’s de Lima (18-7-1) also got back into the win column in his most recent win. He dominated Maurice Greene, defeating “The Crochet Boss” via unanimous decision and handing him his pink slip in the process. Like his opponent Rothwell, he went 1-1 in 2020. “Pezao” knocked out Ben Sosoli to kick off his 2020, but then he got put to sleep against Alexander Romanov.
No location, venue, or broadcast plan has been announced for the November 20 event, but promotion President Dana White said that all Fight Nights will be staying at the Apex in Las Vegas, NV. Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez are expected to headline.
So far, the November 13 card features the following match-ups:
- Max Holloway vs. Yair Rodríguez
- Ovince Saint Preux vs. Philipe Lins
- Jessica Eye vs. Andrea Lee
- Lando Vannata vs. Tucker Lutz
- Ben Rothwell vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima
