The UFC Vegas 33 fight card looked to be cursed with the amount of fights that were cancelled, but the one fight that continued to shine bright on the marquee as fight after fight dropped off the card was Uriah Hall vs. Sean Strickland.

Sean Strickland entered his first UFC main event on a four-fight win streak. He could possibly get closer to breaking the top 10 in the UFC with a victory over former training partner and a very dangerous striker, Uriah Hall.

Uriah Hall had two victories over former champions Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva leading into Saturday’s card. He was looking to continue that momentum, and maybe put himself in a position to get one step closer to a title shot of his own. As Hall has matured inside the Octagon, it has looked like all his tools have come together. A win over a gritty fighter like Sean Strickland could show the division that he is ready for an opportunity against a top 5 opponent.

Sean Strickland was not going to be another highlight reel addition for Uriah Hall however. Strickland picked apart Hall and almost had a finish in the third round after a punch to the back of the ear landed. Sean Strickland was a master tactician at UFC Vegas 33 and showcased a dominate victory over Uriah Hall.
