A pair of top 15 strawweight will collide in October at UFC 267.

Combate was first to report the news that No. 11 ranked strawweight Amanda Ribas will fight No. 13 ranked Virna Jandiroba on October 30 at UFC 267. Both fighters would confirm the news on social media.

Ribas (10-2) suffered her first UFC loss in her last outing. At UFC 257 in January, she was finished via TKO by Marina Rodriguez in the second round. The loss snapped her five-fight win streak with wins that included Mackenzie Dern, Paige VanZant, and Randa Markos. Ribas was scheduled to fight Angela Hill in May and in June, but COVID halted those fights.

Jandiroba (17-2) rebounded from her second UFC loss last month when she dislocated Kanako Murata’s elbow during their fight. Before her most recent loss, she lost a unanimous decision to Dern in an entertaining fight. All three of Jandiroba’s UFC wins have come via finish.

UFC 267 is expected to take place ‘Fight Island’ in Abu Dhabi, although the UFC has not officially announced anything. The main event will be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between champion Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira.

The UFC 267 fight card so far looks like this:

  • Jan Blachowicz vs. Glover Teixeira – for the light heavyweight title
  • Amanda Ribas vs. Virna Jandiroba
