A pair of lightweight Dana White’s Contender Series alumni will collide in September at UFC 266.

BJPenn.com was the first to report the news that Uros Medic and Jalin Turner will fight on September 4 at the PPV event. Medic would confirm the booking on social media.

After receiving a contract on season four of Dana White’s Contender Series, Medic (7-0) made his UFC debut at UFC 259 this past March. “The Doctor” finished Aalon Cruz in the first round with a flying knee followed by punches. He received Performance of the Night for his efforts and kept his 100% finish rate intact. All but one of his wins have ended in the first round.

Turner (10-5) got back into the win column in 2020 and is riding a two-fight win streak with two finishes. At UFC Fight Night: Felder vs. Hooker, he went into foreign territory and stopped Joshua Culibao in the second round via TKO. “The Tarantula” would return seven months later and submit Brok Weaver in the second round, giving him his walking papers in the process.

Both fighters are highly touted lightweight prospects, and a win would continue their climb up the ridiculously stacked lightweight division.

No location, venue, or broadcast details have yet to be announced by the promotion for UFC 266, but Jan Blachowicz vs. Glover Teixeira will headline it for the light heavyweight title.

UFC 266 currently looks like this:

  • Jan Blachowicz vs. Glover Teixeira
  • Erin Blanchfield vs. Sarah Alpar
  • Uros Medic vs. Jalin Turner
